The original sealant formulation, released 2.5 years ago, was designed primarily for effective puncture sealing by maximizing the surface area of the liquid latex for enhanced performance. Pro racers valued its convenience, as they frequently changed tires based on race conditions and could easily pour in fresh sealant without needing to inject it through the valve. However, we heard two main concerns from more casual cyclistsit dried out quickly when not in use, and its composition of the longer strand carbon fiber made injection difficult and problematic, leading to a potentially messy installation if not handled carefully.

Lastly, the old Natural Latex formula needed a two-stepprocess to stay liquid longer. That has been eliminatedwith our new blend of natural and synthetic latex. SILCAUltimate Sealant Is a one-step process lasting +6 monthsand still, above all else, sealing punctures on race day.
